Are Guava Seeds Dangerous when Consumed?

Seeds contained inside the guava fruit are completely harmless and edible. It actually adds additional fiber on top of the fiber that is already found on the flesh of the fruit. The seeds also contains a high dose of pectin which is a type of soluble fiber that can reduce your appetite. This is the reason why eating guava fruits for weight loss diet is highly effective.

The risk of heart diseases will also be reduced because the contents of the guava seeds helps in lowering LDL Cholesterol. For those who are suffering from diabetes, the seed contents helps in regulating your blood sugar. 1. The guava seeds could never get stuck in the kidneys because the kidneys filter blood. The kidneys are not connected to the stomach or any part of the digestive system. The intestines are connected to the stomach and the large intestines have a small pocket on the side that is full of good bacteria that help in digestion. This pocket is called the appendix. When the appendix gets infected with bad bacteria it gets swollen and has to be removed. this is called appendicitis.

  2. There is no way a seed can get stuck in one's kidney because it is not part of the digestive system. It is probably not possible to cause appendicitis either. The only problem it could very well cause is one called diverticulitis which is an inflammation of the diverticulum in the intestines. This is a condition where there are weak pockets in the intestines.

    3. Divertuculitis is pockets in your intestines that the seeds would.get stuck in. Sensitivity to acidity is different.

  3. There is a possibility that, the seeds get stuck inside the appendix. This might result in the inflammation of appendix, which is medically known as appendicitis.

It is impossible that, the seeds affects the kidney, unless there is a uro-digestive fistula(abnormal connection between intestine & urinary tract).

  4. If you have cavities and they're advanced (are holes) be careful because the seeds can break through and get lodged in your molar. Happened to me and now i have to get a root canal and i'm scared :/

  6. You shouldn't eat the guava seed, a few days ago i ate a bunch of guava and I ate the seeds too, because I was lazy. Then a few days later my stomch starting hurting really bad; it felt like someone was scraping my skin on the inside of my stomach. I was crying and couldn't walk, i had to go to the doctor to get medicine to be able to digest it easier.

  11. Seeds from guava and cactus pear should NEVER be added to a green smoothie. It’s not because they are toxic (they are, in fact, edible) but because a blender (even the most high-end blenders on the market) will break them into tiny, jagged pieces that can potentially scratch your esophagus and digestive tract.

  12. Its a shame if Guavas cause appendicitis. It seems like nothing in the world is safe to eat. Is it safe to eat Guava if all the seeds are removed fiirst? The seeds are so numerous and so deeply embedded in the fruit that its not practical to remove all the seeds. It ends up mutilating and wasting the fruit.

  13. You said that they will “insert a tube threw your nose to suck them out of your intestines”? Umm... I do know that inserting a tube threw your nose like that, is how they do a “stomach pump” in an emergency room... But for a tube like that reach your intestines, it would have to go threw your stomach. Therefore your statement seriously makes zero sense, and I think you're spreading inaccurate. information...
